Gunpowder Green Tea is the most widely drunk variety of Chinese green tea in the world. Its main characteristic is the shape of small balls given to the leaves during processing.

The shape is reminiscent, as the name suggests, of gunpowder. The Gunpowder Green Tea leaves are roasted in heated rotary cylinders to stop oxidation and allow the leaves to roll up and dry while retaining this shape. The infusion has a fresh, pungent flavour.

Recommended in diets for its draining and depurative properties, it is also a valuable:

  • Antioxidant, counteracts ageing
  • Moderately stimulating
  • Refreshing
  • Astringent
  • Hypolipidaemic
  • Hypoglycaemic
  • Eupeptic
  • Diuretic
  • Hypotensive.

Contraindicated for those suffering from constipation, gout, kidney stones, and those with iron deficient anaemia.

Camellia Sinensis Leaves. Main components: Polyphenols: catechins 10%, epicatechins; epigallocatechins; gallate; purine alkaloids (lower than tea)

Bring 200 ml of water to the boil and pour in one teaspoon of the product (1 to 1.5 g). Leave to infuse for 3 to 5 minutes. Strain through a fine sieve and drink as required.
